Marco Polo: Transportation of the TARDIS

The TARDIS lands on a plateau of the Pamir, in the year 1289. There the time-travellers meet Marco Polo on his way to Peking

Marco is impressed by the TARDIS and decides he wants to present it to Kublai Khan. The police box is loaded aboard one of the wagons and the journey to the orient continues. Meanwhile, a member of Polo’s party, a war lord named Tegana is also interested in the TARDIS and attempts to sabotage the journey and leave the travellers to die in the Gobi desert.

Story background: 1964, written by John Lucarotti, produced by Verity Lambert. Notable for: Derren Nesbitt, who played the villainous Tegana, had starred alongside William Russell in The Adventures of Sir Lancelot, in a wide variety of roles.
