The Rescue

On the planet Dido an orphaned girl called Vicki and a man called Bennett are the only survivors of a spaceship crash

The rest of the crew have been murdered by the locals. Whilst they await rescue from an Earth ship the TARDS materialises inside some nearby caves and the Doctor is intrigued by the mystery of what has happened to the peaceful Didonians.

Story background: 1965, written by David Whitaker, produced by Verity Lambert. Notable firsts: Vicki, a new companion, joins the time travellers.
