The Macra Terror

The Doctor and his young companions arrive at a colony that has the air of a happy holiday camp

But all is not as it seems. The colonists work to collect a gas under the guidance of a benevolent Controller who appears on screen to inspire them. But at night their minds are indoctrinated and controlled by suggestion. The Doctor discovers that there is a power beyond the Controller, crab-like creatures called Macra that need the poisonous gas to survive whatever the cost to the humans.
