The Daemons - Testing the Heat Barrier

The Brigadier makes the journey to the village

On the route approaching Devil’s End he finds that an invisible heat barrier blocks the way. Anything that touches it is incinerated. Soon he discovers that the barrier forms an unbroken circle surrounding the entire village. He calls upon the RAF to see if there’s any way over the obstacle. A BAC Lightning flies high over the area dropping test cannisters - all of which explode, revealing that Devil’s End is trapped within a inpenetrable dome of heat.
